General FAQs.

If you have a question that is not answered below please reach out and contact us at hello@detox.me-asia.com or check out our SHOP page for more detailed information on our products.

Is it safe to use my product during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

We are passionate about nourishing every member of the family, so most of our products are pregnancy and breastfeeding friendly, and suitable for kids 12 months and up!

Does Barley Grass contain gluten?

We use barley and wheatgrass in a multitude of our products such as our Clean Greens and Super Greens & Reds for example. We ensure that our grasses are harvested at specifically 16cm tall, before the grain head has a chance to grow (the gluten-containing component of the plant) and prevents any risk of cross-contamination. Furthermore, we test our products before they hit the shelves to make triple sure of this.

Do your products contain heavy metals? Are they tested?

All raw ingredients made in Australia or imported must adhere to strict guidelines for the content of heavy metals set by each state in Australia's food authority. This means that all raw ingredients are tested and that no ingredients that do not meet the strict parameters are used in production. This is an Australia wide requirement and food law that Nutra Organics products will always abide by to ensure our products are not only the highest quality nutritionally but also the safest.

Can your products fix or cure an ailment?

Detox.Me-Asia stocks many different products so you will need to refer to each individual item for product specific information. In terms of our Nutra Organics range, it is a health food brand that creates products solely for the purpose of nourishing our bodies with organic, high quality health foods. For further information regarding this or any concerns you may have regarding our products and a specific health condition we recommend consulting your primary physician.

Where do your ingredients come from?

Wherever possible we use Australian grown products. Unfortunately with fruit and vegetable products, this is not always possible due to variations in the seasons ie. Mangoes only grow in Queensland during the summer months. There is also the fact that some fruits and vegetables simply aren’t grown in Australia such as our Brazilian supplied Acai. These factors aside we do however go to every effort to ensure that our suppliers are not only ethical but must adhere to our strict certified organic regulations.

Where are your products manufactured?

Our products are made and manufactured in Australia from local and imported ingredients.

Where can I buy your products?

Our products are available online through our SHOP page on the website, or alternatively, you can reach out at The Body Group.

Are your products nut free?

Please refer to product specific nutritional information. We tend to ensure that the products we carry don't add nuts to any of the bars or nutritional powders. Some of the products are produced in a facility that also processes nuts and is therefore labelled the appropriate allergy warning statement.

Are your products vegan?

Whilst most of our products are classified vegan, there are some of which are an exception to this. Our Bone Broth range is made from organic chicken or grass-fed bovine bone so therefore certainly isn’t vegan. Likewise with our Collagen Beauty, Collagen Beauty Bars, Collagen Body, Collagen Build and Natural Gelatin powder which contains bovine-derived Collagen. Our Mermaid and Golden Lattes contain Manuka Honey. However, we do make a conscious effort to source products that only use organic and ethically produced animal products to ensure we are doing our bit for the environment, our animal friends and fellow humans. If you are after a bone broth alternative we do have Vegetable Broth which is vegan. We have also made sure that no vegan misses out on our Superfood lattes by creating our Velvet latte and Lunar Latte which contains no animal products.

Are your products ok for children to take? If so at what age can they start?

Yes, our products are safe for children to take, however, we do recommend that children take smaller amounts than the suggested amounts for adults.

It's important to remember some products might hold exception to this, so please follow the guidelines set on the package. If your child is above 12 months old we suggest that you half the dose - or take half a teaspoon - whichever is smaller. Also we always advise that for a child above 12 months you seek advise from your health care practitioner as every child has different sensitivities, food tastes and nutritional requirements.

Are your products Gluten Free?

Yes! Fantastic news for coeliac and gluten intolerant friends, all of Nutra Organics product range is gluten-free.

What are the recommended serving sizes?

  • Broth - 1 small tablespoon (8 g) to 250 ml of boiling water

  • Superfood Lattes - 1 heaped teaspoon (3 g)

  • Natural Gelatin - 1/4 cup gelatin

  • Collagen Beauty - 1 heaped tablespoon (12 g) to 250 ml of liquid

  • Collagen Body - 1 1/2 tablespoons (18 g) to 400 ml of liquid

  • Collagen Build - 1 1/2 tablespoons (18 g) to 400 ml of liquid

Can I take multiple products at the same time?

Yes, of course, if you are wanting more guidance on what will suit you best, please don't hesitate to reach out to us to chat more at hello@detox.me-asia.com

Where should I store my Detox.Me-Asia products?

We recommend storing in a cool, dark area away from moisture and sunlight.

Broths FAQs.

How is Bone Broth made?

Roasted beef bones are added to filtered water and apple cider vinegar (to maximise mineral extraction) then slow cooked for 48 hours. The broth is then strained for impurities and the fat is skimmed off of the top. It is gently refractance dried into a powder, taking care to preserve the nutritional profile.

Chicken Bone Broth is made by roasting organic chicken bones, then simmering the bones in filtered water and organic apple cider vinegar for approximately 16 hours. The liquid is then poured through a filter to remove any solids. The broth is then gently refractance dried into a powder.

Vegetable Broth is carefully crafted together to make a wholesome, well balanced vegan broth when added to boiling water. Combining the best dehydrated & refractance dried ingredients for both nutrition and flavour.

Are there any allergy or dietary concerns with consumption of mushroom broths?

If you suffer an allergy to mushrooms or other fungi, we recommend steering clear of our mushroom broths. Otherwise they are all FODMAP friendly, gluten-free and dairy free. They are manufactured in a facility that also processes products containing fish, shellfish, eggs, soy, tree nuts, lupin and sesame.

How do I use bone broth powder?

Bone broth powder is simple to use. For one serving, add 1 tablespoon of powder to 200ml of boiling water. Add vegetables, meat or noodles. Adjust the quantity based on the number of people who will be enjoying this hearty meal. It can be used as a base for soups, sauces and gravies for thickness and flavour. It adds protein and nutrients to the meal making it perfect for kids and adults. Whether you’re healthy or sick, this healing cup of goodness is exactly what the doctor ordered.

What is so special about Red Miso?

We use Certified Organic Red Miso as a base for all of our veggie broths, as it is naturally rich in vitamins and minerals delivering wholesome benefits. It has been dried using a low temperature drying method (freeze drying technique) to retain most of its nutritional benefits, taste and colour. During its processing soya beans and rice were fermented with the probiotic fungus Aspergillus oryzae, to enhance the umami flavour and health goodness.

Collagen FAQs.

What is collagen?

Collagen is a molecule. These molecules hold together the body’s tissues. Collagen plays a major role in the structure of skin, tendons, blood vessels, cartilage, bone and connective tissues.

What is collagen good for?

Our skin is made up of over 75% collagen, which begins to degenerate in our mid twenties and is accelerated by other lifestyle and environmental factors. Collagen, more specifically our Collagen Beauty®, is good for reducing skin wrinkles, smoothing fine lines, increasing skin hydration, improving moisture levels, promoting skin healing and supporting healthy hair & nails. The gut is also made up of connective tissue, so collagen is great for supporting a healthy gut too.

Do collagen powders work?

The short answer, yes, absolutely yes! We source a collagen has been shown to show results after eight short weeks. Hoorah for that!

Which Collagen Product is best for me?

That depends entirely on what your goals and priorities are, as each of our collagen powders contains different bioactive collagen peptides that have different functions in the body. We have also added some specific key nutrients to each that further support and target those functions and make them even more specialised.  Collagen Beauty® targets skin hair and nails, Collagen Body targets bone and Collagen Build targets muscle.

For example, If you are concerned with wrinkles and skin hydration, Collagen Beauty® is the one for you! If you are concerned with bone density or have recently injured yourself and fractured a bone, then Collagen Body is the one for you! If you are focusing on building strength and lean muscle mass then Collagen Build is the one for you!

Can I take more than one collagen product at the same time?

We do not recommend taking more than one collagen product at a time. More is not always better. If you would like to target multiple body systems, we recommend taking turns with which collagen product you use. The clinical studies that demonstrated the effectiveness of each of the collagens was done by using just one of the specialised bioactive collagen peptides, every day for the trial period (usually between 8-12 weeks). So we recommend doing the same thing (for example, you may want to take Collagen Beauty® for 12 weeks to help strengthen and hydrate skin over winter, then focus on Collagen Build for 12 weeks to build and strengthen lean muscle over spring).  Taking more Collagen won’t cause harm (as it is a food product that is generally considered safe) but there is only so much protein synthesis and metabolism that you can do in a day. Also, consuming too much of anything isn’t a good idea, as it takes the place of other foods in the diet which may reduce the variety of foods that you have in your day. A healthy varied diet is always the best!

What 'types' of collagen are in Collagen Beauty®, Collagen Body and Collagen Build?

Collagen Beauty®, Collagen Body, and Collagen Build are standardised to contain type I and type III collagen. These two types of collagen are the most abundant types present in connective tissue within the human body such as in hair, skin, nails, bones, joints, muscle and ligaments.

Will collagen help joint pain?

Joint pain can be caused by lots of different things, but one of the common causes of joint pain is damage to tendons, ligaments or cartilage. All of these structures contain a lot of collagen, so consuming collagen peptides will help.

Is it pregnancy & breastfeeding friendly?

Yes!

In saying this, we do advise on all our products to seek advice from your health care professional on taking our products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. We only say so as we believe that every pregnancy is different, taking a toll differently on each individual body in vitamin, mineral and energy levels.

We invite you to research the product to ensure that you are not sensitive to any particular ingredients.

Where does your Collagen come from?

We proudly source our bovine collagen from the most reputable, sustainable and ethical manufacturer in the world. The cattle are located in Germany & Brazil.

Is your collagen sustainable?

Yes! We are passionate about sustainability, which is another reason why we chose to partner with our Collagen manufacturer. You can read their 2021 Sustainability Report here which details everything from their sustainable production processes to their commitment to the highest animal welfare standards. Nutra Organics is very proud to deliver the highest quality collagen product available on the global market, and part of the criteria that assures this is the sustainable origin of our ingredients.

Our canisters are also sustainable & fully recyclable. They are made of a combination of recycled cardboard and FSC certified cardboard. They are recyclable via the steel stream.

Are the cows fed grass or grains?

If there’s one thing we are passionate about here at Nutra Organics, aside from food of course, its animals and their welfare. Therefore we have ensured that the bovine our collagen comes from are treated under the highest animal welfare schemes possible. We do not claim "grass fed" as some of them are located in climates where it snows a large portion of the year, and due to other environmental factors, such as drought, cattle are occasionally fed wholesome non-gmo grains to ensure survival. Therefore as they are not exclusively grass-fed for the entirety of their lives, we do not choose to claim grass-fed.

Is your Collagen Certified Organic?

No, unfortunately there is no commerically viable source of certified organic collagen at this time. This is a global issue and we are doing our best to push for this change as the industry expands.

What is the difference between collagen and collagen peptides?

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. Collagen peptides are short chains of amino acids that are produced after the long collagen molecules are broken down (a process called enzymatic hydrolysis). They behave differently to larger collagen molecules because they are smaller and more easily absorbed by the body, and the body can recognise different peptides for specific functions depending on its size and amino acid composition. They are made of the same amino acids as collagen, but they have different properties.

Why bovine collagen?

We thought long and hard about this one. In the end we decided on bovine collagen for the following reasons:

  •  Bovine hide is a by-product of an industry that is already well established, so it reduces waste, and therefore up-cycles the parts of the animal that would otherwise be disposed of.

  • Traceability of bovine sourced collagen is much clearer than marine collagen (so it’s easy to ensure that the collagen comes from healthy, well cared for cows. “Marine” collagen is rarely even “marine” as it mostly comes from fish farms rather than the ocean, and our oceans are majorly over fished already as it is).

  • The amount of collagen that you get from one cow is massive compared to one fish. Making it much more cost effective and affordable.

There are a lot of misconceptions about the size of collagen peptides from bovine source vs marine source. One is not “bigger” or “smaller” than the other. The size of collagen peptides relies on the hydrolysis process. This is the process where collagen fibres are broken down into small peptide chains. The collagen that we use has been specifically hydrolysed to be the correct size and shape for optimal absorption and utilisation by the body, specific for it’s function!

How is Collagen different to Gelatin?

The main difference between the Collagen and Gelatin Powders are as follows;

  • Collagen is naturally present in all connective tissue.  Gelatin is extracted from collagen, and hydrolised collagen is gelatin that has been broken down even further. Therefore, the amino acid profile is the same, but the protein sizes are different.

  • Hydrolysed collagen peptides are so small that they will dissolve in hot and cold liquid unlike Gelatin that goes solid (giving it it’s gelling effect).

  • Our Collagen products are fortified with specific Collagen Peptides that are trademarked peptides that make the Collagen Powders functional. ie. Collagen Beauty® is fortified with Verisol Collagen peptides that aid in depositing Collagen in hair, skin and nails. Whereas Collagen Body is fortified with Fortibone Collagen peptides that aid in depositing Collagen in bone, ligaments, joints and muscle mass.

Is Gelatin vegan or vegetarian friendly?

No unfortunately, Gelatin is not vegan or vegetarian friendly as it is derived from animal sources. There is no way to obtain gelatin from a plant source as by nature it only occurs in protein rich connective tissue which plants do not have.

Where is Gelatin made and where does it comes from?

Gelatin is a naturally occurring protein source, derived from the collagen rich components of connective tissue in animals. It is produced through a method of heating these components to naturally extract the gelatin rich collagen from these areas.  Gelatin naturally contains a large amount of amino acids such as proline, glycine, hydroxyproline, glutamine and many more which can otherwise be hard to obtain from lean cuts of meat commonly consumed in the western diet. These amino acids are necessary for us to consume as they provide the benefits for all of our connective tissue such as skin, ligaments, bones, cartilage and even our gut lining.

Our Gelatin comes from Australian cows, which are predominantly grass fed. Their diets are supplemented with non-GMO grains when necessary.

Superfood Latte FAQs.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding safe?

All of our superfood latte’s are completely safe for consumption during pregnancy and lactation and for persons under the age of 15. This is due to our latte’s being made up solely of organic whole food ingredients.

Are the Superfood Latte's vegan?

Here at Nutra Organics we decide not to call ALL of our super latte’s vegan due to the fact that the Mermaid Latte (blue one) and the Golden Latte (yellow one) contain Manuka Honey. Some vegans decide to eat honey but for the sake of keeping it above board for those who don’t we we feel it’s better to play it safe. BUT luckily our Velvet latte (pink one) is completely vegan with not an animal sourced ingredient insight so there is something for everyone.

Is Manuka Honey ethical?

Supporting other local and ethical businesses that support us is deeply ingrained in the Nutra Organics ethos. That said we have especially sourced our Manuka Honey from a supplier that gathers it from many different busy bee hives up and down the Australian eastern seaboard. This makes sure that our bee’s are never overworked and are free to roam wherever they shall please. This keeps them very happy and also means that they are able to keep producing amazing Manuka honey that makes all of us very happy too.

What do our Superfood Latte’s taste like?

All of our Superfood Latte’s are traditional Ayurvedic chai based and will have hints of cinnamon, cardamom and ginger. Our velvet latte has a natural sweetness that comes from the beetroot whilst the mermaid is a full-bodied chai with clove and star anise added to enhance the spice profile. The golden latte definitely has a warm earthy flavour profile with turmeric being what brings in the sunshine.

Why do the spices in my Superfood Latte float?

All of the ingredients included in the formulation of our Mermaid Latte (as with all of our products) come from wholefoods that are simply dried and ground. This means that no instantisers, thickeners or extra sugars are added to enhance the solubility of the spices. As such our spices may float to the top of your latte but you can rest assured it’s because they are the real deal. If you really would like to stop this from happening we suggest frothing the milk as this tends to keep them held in suspension a bit longer.

What are Superfood Latte's used for & how do you make them?

Nutra Organics Superfood Latte’s are the answer to your coffee free dreams. If you can’t tolerate caffeine but miss your morning ritual then our latte’s are sure to satisfy your cravings whilst also being good for you! With not a single bit of caffeine insight you can rest assured you will still be getting your morning pick-me-up or 3pm fix our latte’s are suitable for consumption at all times of the day.

So now you want to know how to prepare the most amazing caffeine free latte of your life? Simply choose whichever of our delightful Superfood Latte’s you like.

First – In a small cup or glass place 1-2 teaspoons of powder

(increase or decrease to flavour preference)

Second – pour in a little hot, chilled or dairy milk alternative about 20ml (a big tablespoon) and mix so that the powder is combined well

Thirdly – pour in the remaining milk ( about 180ml ) to make up your latte.

What are adaptogenic herbs/what are they good?

Adaptogenic herbs have been traditionally used across multiple modalities to promote general feelings of balance and increased vitality. Our herbs are simply the whole dried herbs that have been ground down into powder so you know you are getting all of the good stuff without worrying about consuming any form of extract or refined components. By adding adaptogenic herbs into our latte’s we are ensuring you won’t miss your morning pick-me-up as these guys will keep you feeling great all day long without any caffeine induced crashes.

What’s all the fuss about Turmeric Latte’s?

Turmeric latte’s are absolutely everywhere from your local cafe to supermarket shelves, you are sure to come across one in your travels. But what separates our’s from the rest? Well our turmeric has been standardised to contain 5% curcumin. Curcumin is what gives turmeric its bright orange colour and is what all health experts are going crazy for. We have made sure that our latte is made the traditional way with black pepper and coconut milk to ensure the deliverance of curcumins benefits. Naturally sweetened with ethically produced Manuka Honey you will be surprised by just how tantalising a turmeric latte can be.

How much caffeine is in Matcha Latte?

As Matcha Latte contains DōMatcha® green tea and green tea naturally does contain caffeine, there is a small amount of caffeine in Matcha Latte. The amount equates to about 1/5th of what you could expect to consume in one cup of store purchased coffee.

Nutra Organics Matcha Latte – 21 mg per cup

  • Espresso – 145 mg per shot

  • Instant Coffee – 80 mg per cup

  • Energy Drink – 80 mg per 250 ml

  • Black Tea – 50 mg per cup

  • Cola Drink – 49 mg per 375 ml

Comparison Data from FSANZ – Caffeine (2018)

Is Matcha Latte Suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Matcha Latte is suitable for all pregnant and breastfeeding women who are comfortable consuming a small amount of caffeine.

Why is there only a small amount of adaptogenic herbs in Matcha Latte?

You might be wondering why we decided to only add a little amount of the traditional adaptogenic herbs into Matcha Latte, and we’re glad you asked because there are a few very good reasons why.

Firstly, Matcha Latte is a food product, it is not designed to be therapeutic in any way and is not to be associated with the likes of therapeutic supplements, therefore we do not include naturopathic herbs in therapeutic amounts, only traditionally supportive amounts.

Nutra Organics also takes the safety of our products very seriously and we want to ensure that our products are suitable for all consumers without any issues of unwanted interactions or adverse effects. This is why we have a qualified herbalist advising on the quantities of our herbs when included in recipes. This is particularly important for when we consider our pregnant and breastfeeding consumers as well as children who should not consume some herbs in large quantities.

Lastly, as per traditional Naturopathic knowledge, our herbalist understands that more isn’t always more when it comes to some herbs, and in fact, adaptogenic herbs in particular will actually have a greater long-term benefit when taken in small amounts regularly as opposed to large amounts.

Aside from only containing supportive amounts of adaptogenic herbs, Matcha Latte does contain a substantial amount of Organic Japanese matcha green tea which can naturally increase alertness and energy perception due to its natural caffeine content. Matcha Latte also contains theanine which is a naturally occurring compound that helps to assist in creating calm focussed energy minus the overstimulated jitters which is just of its many traditional benefits. We don’t promote Matcha Latte as a stimulant or to treat or influence any particular physiological process.

Is Matcha Latte Vegan?

No, Matcha contains Manuka Honey which although ethically sourced, is not vegan.

What does Matcha Latte taste like?

Matcha green tea has a unique smooth, sweet and yet slightly savoury flavour that is completely different to its whole leaf counterparts. This is as high quality matcha such as our organic DōMatcha® green tea is traditionally derived solely from the shade-grown tea leaves that are harvested completely free of all stems and other plant aerial parts. Further when combined with coconut milk and Australian manuka honey, any slight bitter tones present from the matcha are softened and together create a complex complementary flavour sensation with a sweet creamy mouthfeel.

What on earth is Luo Hun Guo? A.K.A. Monk Fruit?

Monk Fruit is an ancient native fruit of Thailand & China that contains naturally occurring antioxidants known as ‘mogrosides’. These antioxidants provide an intense, well-rounded sweetness without the caloric load of sugar or the bitter aftertaste of other natural sweeteners. Traditionally, Monk Fruit was utilised by Buddhist monks as a medicinal herb in traditional chinsese medicine modalities. Today we utilise monk fruit to provide healthy, safe and delicious natural sweetness free from gluten, animal products, artificial additives or synthetics.

Are there any allergy or dietary concerns with the consumption of Matcha Latte?

If you suffer an allergy to pollens or other bee derived products, particularly honey, we recommend steering clear of Matcha Latte. Otherwise it is free of all other commonly concerning allergens such as dairy, gluten, nuts etc. It is important to note that the product is manufactured in a facility that processes products containing fish, shellfish, eggs, soy, tree nuts, lupin and sesame.

Seeking Health Supplements FAQs.

Why is there a manufacture (“MFG”) date on the bottom of my bottle, and not an expiration date?

The manufacture (“MFG”) date at the bottle of your Seeking Health product refers to the date the product was produced in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Because we do not print expiration dates on all of our products, we do provide the manufacture date for quality assurance when an expiration date has not yet been established by product testing. We are currently working on conducting stability testing on the Seeking Health product line to establish expiration dates for products not yet labeled with this information. The Learning Center, product pages and bottles will be updated accordingly as results are returned.

Encapsulated, tableted and chewable supplement products typically retain potency and freshness for 2 years from the manufacture date under good storage conditions.

Probiotics typically retain potency for 18 - 24 months under good storage conditions.

Unopened liquid supplements typically retain potency for 2 years under good storage conditions.

Why does my skin flush after taking products containing niacin (B3), and what can I do about it?

Niacin, or vitamin B3, is found in many multivitamins, B complexes, prenatals, and standalone vitamin B3 products.

When these products are taken on an empty stomach, a healthy response to niacin supplementation may include mild blushing, warming, or tingling of the skin. This can appear on the ears, face, arms, torso, or occasionally on the legs. Commonly referred to as a "niacin flush", this harmless response normally dissipates within an hour. It is related to niacin's role in vasodilation (widening of blood vessels). Vasodilation leads to better circulation, capillary flushing, and increased blood flow to the surface of the skin.

To minimize or prevent flushing, consider taking this supplement with food or in divided doses.

Does Seeking Health do third party testing for heavy metals?

All Seeking Health product lots are tested for the four main heavy metals (cadmium, arsenic, lead, mercury) using scientifically validated test methods, and results comply with federal standards for supplements.

Can my liposomal be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures?

We recommend that you do not heat or freeze your liposomal product. Unopened at room temperature, liposomal products retain potency for 12-18 months. To maximize the potency and purity of the product, we recommend that you refrigerate the product after opening, and use within 40 days.

High Temperature: Unopened, liposomals typically retain potency at temperatures up to 104°F/40°C for up to 6 days.

For shipping in hot areas, you can add an icepack to your order or choose expedited shipping method to optimize the potency of the product during shipping or handling. However we do not require icepacks to be shipped with liposomals unless product will be exposed to very high temperatures (above 104°F/40°C).

Cold Temperatures: We do not recommend that you expose your product to freezing temperatures (32°F/0°C or lower) as this may destroy the liposomal devliery method.
